Questions
Plain answers about delivery, ordering, the harvest and what we make. If yours is not here, write to us.
Where do you deliver?
Delivery in Beirut and the Metn for $5, or free pickup. We agree the day with you by message. This season we sell in Beirut and the Metn only.
The details are on delivery and returns.
How do I order and pay?
Put what you would like in your basket and press “Order by email”: it opens a message to us with your order written out. Send it, and we reply to arrange delivery or pickup.
A 50% deposit on your card holds your order: through a link we send you. You pay for the order in cash or by card when you receive it ($5 for a delivery, pickup is free), and we return the deposit to your card. If you do not take your order, we keep the deposit (our terms).
Is it organic?
Yes. Our oil and olives are organically grown, on our own trees on the stone terraces of Kfarhata, in Koura, and our family holds an organic certificate for them. Ask us and we will send you a copy.
We pick by hand, onto nets, and the oil is pressed the old way, under stone millstones at the mill in Koura, as our grandparents made it.
How long does the oil keep?
Olive oil does not go off overnight, but it does change after the press. Over time it loses the green colour and the fresh taste it has when it is new.
Keep the jug or can closed, somewhere cool and dark, away from the stove, and once it is open, use it rather than save it.
Why is the harvest month on the label?
Because olives and oil are a harvest food, and the month tells you how fresh they are. Our family has dated its jars since 2017, when the labels read “Oct 2017 production” on the green olives and “Nov 2017 production” on the black.
We still do it. Every jar from the 2026 harvest carries the month it was filled.
What is the tanakeh?
The traditional tin of oil, filled straight from the press.
This season it is one of the sizes of our olive oil: gallon (~3.76 L), $50; half tanakeh (about 8.5 kg), $105; tanakeh (17 kg), $200. Choose a size.
Is the soap a cosmetic?
No. It is plain olive-oil soap, the saboun baladi of the north, and we sell it for cleansing. That is all we claim for it.
This season its price is on request: ask us from its page.
Who sells it?
We do. Žayti comes from Semaan Lands, our family’s grove in Kfarhata, and we sell our oil, olives and soap ourselves. SSS Tech manages this website for us.
